Vision. Warmth. Personality. Good taste. And a healthy dose of everything that makes Wisconsin great.
From the name to the menu, SentryWorld’s new restaurant didn’t have to go far for inspiration. PJ's – SentryWorld is truly a celebration of Wisconsin and everything it’s known for.
PJ’s – SentryWorld is named after PJ Jacobs and pays homage to the Stevens Point man who gave back to his hometown in so many ways. PJ Jacobs moved a small insurance company to Stevens Point more than 100 years ago and changed the course of the city. That small insurance company would become what is today known as Sentry Insurance.
“PJ Jacobs brought the fledgling Hardware Dealers Mutual Fire Insurance Company to Stevens Point from Berlin, Wisconsin in 1912,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry Insurance president, CEO and chairman of the board. “Because of PJ Jacobs' connection with both our company and the community, it’s only fitting that we named our reimagined restaurant after him.”
“It’s such an honor for our family to have Sentry name their restaurant after my grandfather,” said Mary Joerns Nass, PJ Jacobs' granddaughter. “My mother shared stories of his love of family gatherings. Because PJ’s restaurant will be focused on families, I think he would be very proud.”
PJ’s – SentryWorld features a Wisconsin-inspired theme to create a warm, inviting and relaxed atmosphere where you’ll feel comfortable gathering for lunch or dinner. Find a wide variety of soda, wine, beer and cocktails to pair with your meal. Among the more than 25 tap beers served is PJ’s White Ale, a private label exclusively brewed by Point Brewery for PJ’s – SentryWorld.
The menu at PJ’s – SentryWorld is a tribute to the flavors of Wisconsin, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Menu items range from fried perch bites, hearty beer cheese soup or venison chili, potato and bacon salad, handmade burgers, an all in-house made Reuben, wood oven maple chicken, daily blue plate specials and desserts including warm apple pie with Wisconsin sharp cheddar or a Point Root Beer float.
An exciting addition to PJ’s – SentryWorld is a wood oven, used for handmade pizza and other entrees. The pizzas are a fusion of Neapolitan-style and Wisconsin comfort featuring a thin crust with great authentic flavors. You will be able to watch pizzas bake in the 900-degree F wood oven.
“We’ve made good on our promise of keeping a community and family focus at PJ’s – SentryWorld. You will feel welcomed and comfortable joining us for a quick lunch or for an evening meal.” said McPartland.
In line with our dedication to Midwest hospitality, we welcome our guests without need for a reservation.
