What’s in a name?
PJ’s – SentryWorld is named for P.J. Jacobs, the person responsible for relocating a small insurance company to Stevens Point in 1912. Born and raised in Stevens Point, Jacobs developed from a homegrown entrepreneur into a keen businessman with a vision for the future. When he was elected secretary of the Wisconsin Retail Hardware Association, he moved the growing Hardware Dealers Mutual Fire Insurance Company to his hometown. Over the course of his career, Jacobs’ leadership provided the foundation that makes Sentry Insurance what it is today.

Jacobs made multiple trips to Indiana to hire the best stone carvers and select the stone that would be used in the door frames.
