SentryWorld Golf Course Earns Four-and-a-Half Star Rating from Golf Digest
STEVENS POINT —SentryWorld received a four-and-a-half out of five star rating in the 2008-09 edition of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play”. Golf Digest rated 6,000 North America golf courses. The ratings were based on nearly 20,000 evaluations from Golf Digest readers.
SentryWorld is among the best public golf courses in Wisconsin and the nation. In 2007, SentryWorld was named the Golf Course of the Year by the Golf Course Owners of Wisconsin. The course was voted No. 6 best course in the state of Wisconsin by Golf Digest for 2007 and 2008.
The par 72 course is 6,951 yards surrounded by 200 acres of rolling hills, sand bunkers, green pines and white birch. There are five different tees for each hole, allowing golfers to choose the level of difficulty of their game.
In addition to the championship 18-hold course SentryWorld designed by one of the nation’s foremost golf architects, Robert Trent Jones II, SentryWorld’s golf facilities include an indoor driving range, an outdoor driving range, putting greens, chipping and sand areas, as well as a pro shop and Sport Plate restaurant. The SentryWorld pro shop was also recognized in 2007 by the Golf Course Owners of Wisconsin with the Golf Shop Service award.
