HOLE 1 | PAR 4
461 BLACK - 424 BLUE - 387 WHITE - 344 GOLD - 312 GREEN
HOLE 2 | PAR 5 (CHAMP)/PAR 4
598 BLACK - 473 BLUE - 445 WHITE - 412 GOLD - 375 GREEN
The second hole at SentryWorld highlights the flexibility that has been built into the reimagined course. Created out of the former eleventh hole, which was a medium length par five with a green set on the edge of a marsh, the new second hole plays through an open landscape up to a green set on a gentle rise within a wooded area. “We’ve shifted the green about 100 yards back and to the right,” said on-site architect Jay Blasi. That extension means that the pros will play the hole as a 598-yard par five. Meanwhile, other golfers will choose from a variety of different tee boxes to play the hole as a long par four.
HOLE 3 | PAR 3
151 BLACK - 147 BLUE - 133 WHITE - 114 GOLD - 97 GREEN
Previously a half-wooded pocket within the property, the third hole captures one of the truly unique views at SentryWorld and exemplifies what’s so special about the course. Playing downhill with SentryWorld’s big lake directly behind to serve as a backdrop, golfers will enjoy a new way to interact with the water – experiencing what on-site architect Jay Blasi described as an “infinity green.”
HOLE 4 | PAR 4
348 BLACK - 327 BLUE - 299 WHITE - 267 GOLD - 234 GREEN
Just as with the second hole, the new fourth hole adds length along with something new to SentryWorld—the drivable par four. Once known as a 160-yard par three, the hole has been stretched to a par four playing 348 yards from the championship tee. The green complex remained, but received a reconfigured green edge along with updated bunker placement.
HOLE 5 | PAR 5
526 BLACK - 510 BLUE - 475 WHITE - 435 GOLD - 370 GREEN
The fifth hole at SentryWorld offers golfers a beautiful par five—in the words of Robert Trent Jones, Jr., “one of the most beautiful holes at SentryWorld, and for that matter, in all of golf.” Designed as a classic cape hole, golfers are tasked with playing around the landform with a lake to the left. Once the water has been cleared, golfers are faced with a second challenge—either playing for the green down a corridor of water between the trees or staying safe to the right, avoiding aptly placed bunkers. The choices are many on SentryWorld’s fifth hole—choose wisely.
HOLE 6 | PAR 4
510 BLACK - 489 BLUE - 408 WHITE - 345 GOLD - 306 GREEN
SentryWorld’s sixth hole departs from the world of water hazards and introduces the vertical hazard of a corridor of trees. A strong hole, this long par four offers a strict examination of a golfer’s tee shot—requiring straight directional precision along with power to play over the carry bunker if you so choose. Hit well and you’ll be rewarded by an open entrance green. Play away and hit it hard.
HOLE 7 | PAR 3
215 BLACK - 204 BLUE - 170 WHITE - 154 GOLD - 117 GREEN
A charming and equally challenging hole, the seventh hole at SentryWorld is a dynamic par three surrounded by bunkers. The seventh hole also features a kicker slope over the left bunker. Golfers who play strategically can use the kicker slope to their advantage. Choose your shot carefully and strike it well on this long par three.
HOLE 8 | PAR 4
381 BLACK - 340 BLUE - 327 WHITE - 296 GOLD - 235 GREEN
One of the design principles of the new layout at the reimagined SentryWorld focused on varying lengths of the par fours on the course. The eighth hole at SentryWorld is a perfect example of this focus, adding a short, streamlined par four into the mix. In its new iteration, the eighth hole now has fewer bunkers but still requires a precise shot off the tee to set up a shot to the elevated green fronted by bunkers. Be bunker-aware on SentryWorld’s eighth hole.
HOLE 9 | PAR 4 (CHAMP)/PAR 5
508 BLACK - 487 BLUE - 470 WHITE - 432 GOLD - 350 GREEN
Golfers familiar with SentryWorld are sure to notice a remarkable change when teeing up on the new ninth hole. The tees and green remained in their existing locations, but a “gambler’s” slot was opened up through the grove of trees that formerly outlined the right side of hole’s fairway. The result is a challenging, short risk/reward par five (long par four for the pros) with two fairways straddling a creek.
HOLE 10 | PAR 5
612 BLACK - 567 BLUE - 526 WHITE - 483 GOLD - 398 GREEN
The tenth hole at SentryWorld showcases the variety that has been built into the reimagined course. Created out of the former first and second holes, the new tenth hole combines a dogleg left with a dogleg right to become a very long par five—now the longest hole at SentryWorld. Golfers will experience a snakelike effect as they tee off and meander to the left, then shifting their focus to a long arc to the right.
HOLE 11 | PAR 4
319 BLACK - 291 BLUE - 257 WHITE - 236 GOLD - 217 GREEN
The new eleventh hole adds another shorter par four into the mix at SentryWorld. Using the footprint of the former third hole, the new eleventh hole has been straightened out with the green shifted roughly 60 yards. With the hole’s reconfiguration, water is now featured behind the hole instead of on the left. “As with others, creating the new eleventh hole really allowed us to focus on increasing the fun factor,” commented co-project architect Bruce Charlton. “The redesign of this hole offers a fresh water feature perspective and introduces another shorter par four into the round that players of all abilities are sure to enjoy.”
HOLE 12 | PAR 3
161 BLACK - 139 BLUE - 123 WHITE - 86 GOLD - 76 GREEN
Another dramatic transformation for the new SentryWorld golf course, the par-three, twelfth hole is located in the northeast corner of the SentryWorld property – an area that golfers never previously ventured to. The twelfth hole plays directly over a section of SentryWorld’s big lake to a green set on a peninsula. While the shot over the lake is exhilarating and challenging, numerous tees set on the water’s edge provide golfers of all abilities a great chance to hit the green.
HOLE 13 | PAR 4
424 BLACK - 424 BLUE - 345 WHITE - 331 GOLD - 212 GREEN
Just as with the new ninth hole, golfers familiar with SentryWorld are sure to notice a significant change when teeing up on the new thirteenth hole. Formerly a 90-degree dogleg to the right with a lake through the fairway hidden from the tee, the redesigned hole is now a straightaway par four featuring an exciting tee shot played over the water. “The thirteenth hole might be the most dramatic change of any one hole on the property,” noted on-site architect Jay Blasi. “By straightening out the hole and adding the tee shot over the water, we've added drama and eliminated the blind hazard. The hole will still be very challenging, especially for the scratch player who faces a 200-yard carry over water to the fairway—but we have provided tees suited to all skill levels.”
HOLE 14 | PAR 5
575 BLACK - 523 BLUE - 501 WHITE - 456 GOLD - 421 GREEN
A very long par five, SentryWorld’s fourteenth hole now boasts a widened fairway—65 yards wide to be exact. This widened approach allows for plenty of room to swing away for length. The updated fourteenth hole also saw removal of bunkers, providing even more opportunity to navigate your course to a good score on the hole.
HOLE 15 | PAR 4
458 BLACK - 425 BLUE - 384 WHITE - 340 GOLD - 281 GREEN
SentryWorld’s fifteenth hole offers golfers a straightaway par four with plenty of options for length depending on tee choice. The fifteenth hole allows players to focus on simplicity to find their way to par or better.
HOLE 16 | PAR 3
176 BLACK - 168 BLUE - 145 WHITE - 120 GOLD - 97 GREEN
Known throughout the golf world, the Flower Hole is synonymous with the legend of SentryWorld. In the redesign, the tradition of the hole was preserved with the addition of some subtle enhancements. Drainage was added, some grassing patterns were reoriented and the area coming off the hole to the pathway was made easier to get in and off the green. Also important to note, the amount of flowers to be used has been boosted—now upwards of 33,000. The Flower Hole offers both a spectacular photo opportunity as well as a challenging par three requiring a precise shot that sets the tone for the final holes.
HOLE 17 | PAR 4
368 BLACK - 334 BLUE - 310 WHITE - 284 GOLD - 271 GREEN
The new seventeenth hole occupies the same space as it had previously, but has undergone major refinements to the hole itself. The old seventeenth hole was extremely narrow and played through a wooded landscape. The second shot, although very beautiful, was very, very difficult and required a long approach shot over water to a small green. The new tee shot has been opened up to allow for many more options. The green has been moved closer to the tees, shortening up the hole, and the lake was expanded behind the new green.
HOLE 18 | PAR 4
446 BLACK - 439 BLUE - 405 WHITE - 377 GOLD - 305 GREEN
SentryWorld’s eighteenth hole marks the perfect finale to a challenging and rewarding round at SentryWorld. Golfers are greeted by an uphill par four with length and beauty. The eighteenth hole requires a long, strong, straight tee shot in order to make your plan to the well-guarded green. Finish your round with pride and fulfillment as you look back over your journey through the reimagined SentryWorld and plan your next round soon to make more memories.
