Girls throughout Central Wisconsin will soon have the chance to learn golf from a professional, due to a new program from the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the United States Golf Association, and SentryWorld.
SentryWorld is one of a few courses in Wisconsin selected to host LPGA*USGA Girls Golf. This girls-only junior golf program is designed to make learning the game fun, social, and less intimidating for beginners. It’s also for those who just want to play with other girls interested in the game.
“Research shows girls make the best progress when learning in an all-girl environment,” said Katie Kreuser, LPGA professional and SentryWorld golf instructor. “We’ve created a variety of activities and games with the goal of teaching them golf and other life skills.”
Girls Golf is a five-week program. Two separate sessions are scheduled for Mondays at SentryWorld. The first begins June 12 and runs through July 17, and the second runs July 24 through August 21.
Cost for either is $100.
Lessons will be divided by ages with girls 6–9 golfing from 3–4 p.m., and girls 10–15 golfing from 4:15–5:15 p.m.
Registration is now open.
